Our Mission

The Young Publishers Association aims to foster connection, provide mentorship, and uplift the next generation of publishing professionals at all stages of their career. By creating common spaces across the industry, we hope to inspire collaboration, spark conversation, and facilitate networking opportunities that will ultimately forge an accessible and long-lasting community.

Meet the Team

  • Noah Perkins

    FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN

    Noah works in managing editorial/production at Neuwirth & Associates and serves as an editorial project manager at Diversion Books. He also freelances edits and reviews manuscripts for The Black List.

  • Chris Gouchoe

    VICE CHAIRMAN | CO-CHAIR, COMMUNICATIONS | COMMITTEE MEMBER, IN-PERSON EVENTS

    Chris is a writer, entrepreneur, and founding member of YPA who’s spent the last decade+ bouncing between film sets, startups, and new media story rooms. These days, he’s channeling the creative chaos into building community (and careers) around his first true love: books.

  • Nina Richner

    TREASURER

    Nina studies Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Ohio University, and currently works at the Howard Morhaim Literary Agency. They live in Brooklyn with their partner, a rambunctious cat and dog, and far too many books.

  • Frannie Dove

    SECRETARY | CO-CHAIR, COMMUNICATIONS | COMMITTEE MEMBER, REMOTE EVENTS

    Frannie is a writer and former literary agent assistant with a special interest in history and historical fiction. She holds a masters in creative writing from George Mason University.

  • Madison Parotta

    CHAIR, REMOTE EVENTS | COMMITTEE MEMBER, COMMUNICATIONS

    Madison is a book production assistant at Penguin Random House, a founding member of the Young Publishers Association, and a founding member of Disability in Publishing, where she sits on the communications team.

  • Kelly Stone

    CHAIR, MENTORSHIP

    Kelly is an associate editor at St. Martin’s Publishing Group, where she has worked since 2021. She graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Communication and previously interned at Pegasus Books, Folio Literary Management, Pippin Properties, Cornell University Press, and Andrews McMeel Publishing.

  • Cait Ward

    COMMITTEE MEMBER, REMOTE EVENTS & MENTORSHIP

    Cait is an aspiring Children's Editor. Currently she works as an Editor with the Custom and Proprietary imprint at The Quarto Group.

  • Francis Swinson

    COMMITTEE MEMBER, COMMUNICATIONS & REMOTE EVENTS

    Francis is an editorial assistant at WaterBrook & Multnomah, an imprint of Penguin Random House and she’s interested an all things editorial.

  • Grace Katherine Gay

    COMMITTEE MEMBER, IN-PERSON EVENTS

    Grace is an assistant editor at St. Martin's Press, where she works on a wide list of adult upmarket/commercial fiction and non-fiction, as well as some young adult. She posts her own writing and book recs @gracekatherinereads on Instagram.

  • Taylor Gilreath

    COMMITTEE MEMBER, MENTORSHIP

    Taylor is the acquiring editor of Potomac Books at the University of Nebraska Press. She has worked in acquisitions and editorial for almost six years, primarily in trade nonfiction.

  • Laura Hart

    COMMITTEE MEMBER, MENTORSHIP

    Laura is an associate editor for Bellevue Literary Press, a nonprofit publisher at the intersection of the arts and sciences. Her passion lies in cultivating and empowering diverse stories so that the publishing world better represents our modern society.

What does Young Publishers do?

We host in-person and virtual networking events, we plan educational panels, and we are planning to launch a mentorship program in the near future (stay tuned).
